Tulip Ice Cream is a truly one-of-a-kind, iconic and photo worthy variety. It opens as an ordinary raspberry-pink tulip and then does something strange and wonderful — the center packs itself with dense, creamy-white petals until the whole flower looks like a scoop of soft-serve sitting in a pink cup. It’s a double late tulip, so it blooms at the end of the season when most tulips are finished, and the flower head is heavy enough to last well in a vase. Plant this one front and center where people walk past, it is sure to command passing eyes’ attention! Tulips in general are considered deer resistant, but we like to apply an organic deer and rabbit repellant spray every 1-2 days to be sure!
